He doesn't believe Jake and Holt after they say they're in witness protection and when they try to prove it, they contact Marshall Haas only to be talking to Jimmy Figgis on the other line.

To get him to open the lock, Holt and Jake start a fight but Sheriff Reynolds only tries to interfere when Jake and Holt kiss.

In Coral Palms Pt. 3, he is shown in an interview about Jake and Holt's escape.

He appears again while Jake had Figgis held at gunpoint. After Jake drops his gun, he is then shot by Figgis. Amy later tells Jake that Sheriff Reynolds seems to be doing fine as he keeps saying, "Disability for life!".
