Jake Peralta and Rosa Diaz are police colleagues who first met in the Police Academy. They are shown to be close and Rosa considers him her closest friend as they never discuss personal matters. They are very trusting of one another and support each other.

- Jake and Rosa later interrogate and find Mark Devereaux guilty of stealing the laptop.

- Jake and Charles use a device that emits crowds of young people by emitting a sounds that only those under 35 can hear. Rosa screams out in pain and Charles and Jake pretend they hear it too.
- Jake sends Rosa to work out with Holt, even though she's extremely hungover.
Season Five[]
The Venue[]
- Something Jake and Rosa have been doing since they were back at the police academy is Rosa is able to throw donut holes into Jake's mouth. They have been able to do it under strange circumstances, such as Rosa throwing it from a long distance and Jake being able to catch it in his mouth.

- When Rosa comes out as bisexual, Jake helps her tell her parents.
Season Six[]

- Jake and Rosa work a case together.
- As Jake becomes obsessed with it, Rosa begins to worry about him.
- Jake tries to prove that he remembers Rosa's girlfriend's name, Jocelyn Pryce, after forgetting it once
- Jake and Rosa search the floors of the precinct to find the hacker
- Jake tries to talk Rosa out of dumping Jocelyn out of pettiness and she admits that she doesn't want to lose Jocelyn, Jake covers for her while she chases Jocelyn outside
- Rosa teels Jake that she is taking the weekend off and asks if he can have the new captain out by Monday, as she is done meeting new people, to which he agrees to
- Jake and Rosa disagree on how to deal with Debbie, with Jake arguing that they should help her and Rosa arguing that she has to deal with it herself
- Jake and Rosa go undercover together to trick Debbie into leading them to crime boss, Silvio Nucci
- Jake and Rosa are both taken hostage by Debbie when they each attempt to take her down after she does coccaine and carries one of the guns around with her
- Jake and Rosa agree to take the fact that they were beaten up by Debbie to their graves
- Rosa informs Jake of a perp she has in holding of whom has an invitation to Doug Judy's wedding, knowing that he'd be upset because he has not recieved an invitation himself
- Rosa shows Jake the video she took of Holt and Terry dancing
Rosa quits the force because of racial discrimination and violence and becomes a P.I. Jake ends up working a case with her and reveals he felt like it was personal when she left the force. Rosa tells him not everything is about him and continues the case without him. However, Jake thinks this over and ends up saving Rosa during the case. Jake apologizes to Rosa and they agree to go back to being friends again
Jake calls in a favor from Rosa and asks her to FaceTime him and sing Doug Judy a song. She does, only Jake tells her to stop after learning that Judy plans on escaping,
When talking to Amy about the sentimental gifts he got for the squad, he tells her that he got Rosa a travel board game so the two of them could continue game night even if the 99 is splitting apart.
