Phil Lord and Chris Miller directed and produced the Pilot episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The two are creative partners who have worked together on many projects including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Lego Movie, and 21 Jump Street.
They are also executive producers on the television series The Last Man on Earth. The show's main character, Phil Miller, was named after them.
