The Enigma "Iggy" Boyle (or Linetti, Boyle-Linetti or Linetti-Boyle) is the daughter of Gina Linetti and Milton Boyle.

Her parents have nicknamed her "Iggy". She was never seen in the show but is mentioned often.

Trivia[]

  • Gina calls her child "Fetus," when still unborn.
  • Both Gina and Milton agreed that if the baby is a girl to call her "The Enigma", but if a boy, "The Enigmo."
    • This is shown to be Milton's idea in the episode, however it is also on Gina's list for baby names.
  • Enigma is the second child to be born on the show, after Ava Jeffords, and before McClane "Mac" Peralta-Santiago.
  • It is likely that she takes the Boyle name, but it is possible she could have her name hyphenated as Linetti-Boyle.
  • It is unknown when Enigma was born (fitting with her character). It is mentioned in 'Game Night' that Engima is ten weeks old. This puts her birthday somewhere between 10/14 and 10/20, assuming the episode takes place on its air date.
  • In the episode, HalloVeen, someone disguised as Gina appears and challenges the contenders to assemble baby things for Enigma in order to gain clues to find the championship "cummerbund." It is later revealed to be Bill, but it is likely the baby things were still for Enigma.
  • Holt pities the child (Enigma) that lies beneath the inaccurate solar system when assembling the mobile.
  • At one point, Lynn Boyle and Charles Boyle were her step-grandfather and step-uncle respectively, until her grandmother Darlene and Lynn got divorced.

  • It can be assumed that the writers of Brooklyn Nine-Nine wrote for Gina to be pregnant in the show due to the actress, Chelsea Peretti, being pregnant with her son during the shooting of Season 4.
  • In one of Season Five behind the scene, Dan Goor discusses about the possibility of Enigma’s appearance in the future.
